Kohsaar University Campaign
The dream of the president, NYA, Mr. Hanan Ali Abbasi has realized in the shape of official decision of new campus of Punjab University for Murree/Abbottabad. Hanan Ali Abbasi introduced his concept in October 2009, and afterwards, he struggled continuously for two years at all levels – governmental, social, media, etc. people from all segments of life have highly appreciated his efforts, and termed that his big achievement for the deprived

PESHAWAR: Hanan Ali Abbasi, the president of NYA announced a new campus of the University of Punjab for Murree after the government of Punjab approved a model concept of the youth leader.
This announcement was made after two years of rigorous effort of youth-led movement under the leadership of Hanan Ali Abbasi. Interestingly, having a background of village, Abbasi was nominated best youth parliamentarian of session 2009-10 and in October 2009 he introduced the concept of Kohsar University and launched an effective public awareness campaign for the establishment of this university.
In an interview with The News he said, “Through this campaign, he captivated the attention of the legislators through TV talk shows, public gatherings etc. and affirmed that “On the border of district Abbottabad, district Bagh and Tehsil Murree “KOHSAR UNIVERSITY” can be the symbol of educational friendship and harmony between Kashmir, Punjab & KP province,” adding it will be the message of bright future for those students who could not complete their higher education, just because of poverty and unavailability of university.
Hanan said that for this purpose, he had designed a feasibility including from land to construction, technicalities, statistical information, composed all the details in the shape of a book and presented this book to concerned authorities including Chairman, Higher Education Commission; chief minister Punjab and others. Finally, the chief minister approved the concept of the university and announced immediate establishment of the University of Punjab campus for deprived people of Khitta-e-Kohsar.
The president NYA termed this announcement a landmark achievement for the future generation of the region, and this dream will interpret in the shape of educated youth for future. Abbasi said the students of the area had to travel to Rawalpindi/ Islamabad for higher studies, which were too expensive for them and ultimately they had no option but to give up their studies. The decision of the university campus will help redress the past grievances of the people of Murree. Abbasi, President of National Youth Assembly, hailing from Abbottabad is one of those people who are ordinary by birth but their hard work, talent and determination makes them stand out. In an early age he became the president of symbolic parliament of Pakistani future leaders-National Youth Assembly. He has received International Youth Human Rights Award 2012-13 on International Human Right Day.
He was also nominated as young personality of the year for the New Year calendar 2012 of Azm-e-Alishan; the most credible national talent hunt programme of the country. Hanan is also a holder of state’s highest official award-National Youth Award 2010 – in the area of youth leadership, literature and media. He has authored two books: “Zameeni Sitare” and “Cheen Se Bartania Tak” and has visited China and UK as a state guest where he closely watched their governmental and administrative structures.

They welcome the federal Government commitment on new universities & put demand in front of President Of Pakistan to announce KOHSAR UNIVERSITY within no time as it is the basic need and right of more than 4 million people of Abbotabad, Murree & Bagh, in addition they said currently approximately 50(both governmental & non govt) inter Schools are working near by these areas but the area full of natural beauty has a lack of higher education & student thirsty for higher education, have no way but to stop there further studies.

It is relevant to note here that number of district Kohsar areas but there is no university in more then thousand villages of district Abbotabad, District Bagh, semi part of District Mazffarabad and Tehsil Murree Called “Khitta-e-Kohsar who are leading a life of extreme poverty and ignorance owing to uneducated culture.
Raja Mobeen Ur Rehman & Mr Hanan Ali Abbasi appreciates the current supportive voices of elected people from these areas.
They suggested especially to youngsters & other people that if they wants there problems to be solved then they have to struggle by there own self without waiting political players for rescue.
Mr Hanan Ali Abbasi also point out the propose area situated at the border of ,Murree, Abbotabad & Bagh with 350 kanals (Govt of Punjab owned land) or any other approachable place suggested, now its just federal government’s announcement & solid commitment is required for this noble cause & step towards bright future of Pakistan.
They believed that there cause is not just for KOHSAR UNIVERSITY after that they will use this forum to enlightened the area.Large number of people belonging to Khitta-e-Kohsar, the area starting from Murree and stretching up to Muzafarabad,have not been facilitated with any public university since creation of Pakistan. More than 4 million people are living in said area and they are still waiting for any varsity and accusing their respective for not raising their voice on the National forums for the establishment of the university. This lethargic attitude of politicians who are reportedly accused by the people of the area are being considered as a main hurdle in establishing any university and apparently they are no serious attitude towards resolving this public issue.

Finally discourteous attitude of the area’s representatives have forced the youth of area to come forward and ask the authorities concerned to give them their due right of the university otherwise they would stage number of protest demonstrations and bring out rallies.
In this connection a group of youngsters from Khitta-e-Kohsar have joined their hands and started a unique campaign “University Lovers” for establishment of “Kohsar University.”
They have launched movement and they also seem very active in order to press the people of the area for launching a comprehensive campaign in favour of their due demand of a university. Hanan Ali, Raja Mobeen and Ali Asghir said Educational backwardness of youth is a serious, extremely sorrowful and disappointing whose average literacy rate is far less than the national rate of literacy. They were of the view that education is a vital for progress and prosperity of any nation. Strong educational infrastructure, being the backbone for development, helps in boosting economy, scientific and technological advancement and promotion of social sector. The educational backwardness was due to the traditional neglecting attitudes of the governments, politicians, and the other high ups of the area.
More then 35 Higher Secondary Schools & 350 High Schools working in above area. Residents demanded to President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari to announce university in anywhere in Khitha-e-Kohsar. It is relevant to note here the students of the area have to travel to Islamabad, Rawalpindi for higher studies which is too expensive for them and ultimately they have no option but to give up their studies.
Youth Motivation Seminar in COMSATS University
A seminar conducted in the COMSATS University, Islamabad on May 13th, 2011. The topic of the seminar was Youth Motivation. Javed Chaudhary; columnist, anchor was invited as a Chief Guest and Hanan Ali Abbasi; Chairman Youth Senate was the “Honorary Guest” of the seminar. The audience composed of the students of degree classes. Various aspects of youth motivation had been discussed during addresses of Javed Chaudhary and Hanan Ali Abbasi. During his speech, Javed Chaudhary said,
“today’s youth is born on the golden time of history, and they have ample opportunities to prove their worth. Any transformation or alteration which has become possible in the world as yet is a result of individual endeavor. Any Pakistani individual can achieve whatever he/she sets his/her heart on if he/she want”.
Hanan Ali Abbasi, at this occasion said, “Youth of the nation is said to be the backbone of any country. They can do everything if they wish to make it realize their dreams. If you go deep down to know the life history of successful Pakistanis, you would come to know that they have also done gigantic efforts towards earning good name in society. Every successful person of the world sets off his/her journey to success by doing trifling works. We have to firmly believe that today we can do anything for himself and for humanity”.
At this occasion, the administration of COMSATS University also presented souvenirs to their special guests, Javed Chaudhary and Hanan Ali Abbasi.
