Hanan Ali Abbasi has a very comprehensive list of achievements throughout his career as a writer, broadcaster, and a youth leader. His first accomplishment shows him to be an erudite writer and highlights his good writing sense and skills. . He started his writing career at the age of only sixteen. “My Village” was his 1st essay which was published in Daily Nawa i waqt. Hanan Ali Abbasi demonstrated a nice balance between his professional and her personal achievements. His achievements include:

As a Youth Leader:

  • He established a nation-wide, youth-led platform; the National Youth Assembly along with its Upper House – Youth Senate Pakistan, where talented youth from more than 100 districts are working under the umbrella of NYA and they are prepared for holding the reins of the country.

  • He triggered a campaign to feed hungry people during the holy month of Ramazan initiated by his own established organization – Youth Senate Pakistan. Thousands of poor people from different nooks and corners of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi,Lahore, Hyderabad, Abbottabad, Mardan, Sailkot, Chakwal, Jhelum, and other districts of the country are benefited from this campaign.
  • Hanan Ali Abbasi also got serious injuries during his travel to Charsada for ration distribution to poor families. This accident did not disappoint him but were a source of more strength. He is of the view that his team has set an enviable standard of self-help for rendering social services to the needy people of more than 20 Districts of the country. He said at the moment our future policy is to inculcate the habits of social services in our tomorrow’s Leaders. He aims at moulding the team workers to become social Leaders more capable than the political functionaries.
  • As Information Minister of Youth parliament of Pakistan Mr. Hanan highlighted following important ideas in Youth Parliament Pakistan.

a)       Through a calling attention notice in youth parliament Pakistan, Hanan demanded a monument should be constructed in the memories of 152 martyrs of Margalla plan crash, and he pursued this case for one year continuously at every forum. He met with the chairman CDA with his delegation and presented a comprehensive presentation about Margalla monument, and also, in this regard, he wrote an open letter to Interior Minister which was published in “Daily the News”. Finally, the monument has been constructed according to his recommendation.

b)      Through a resolution he demanded that “National Reconciliation Ordinance NRO should be condemned and called upon the Government of Pakistan to set up a commission to spend the money gained by NRO beneficiaries through the act on developmental works”. The resolution was adopted with heavy majority”.

c)       Another resolution was moved by Mr. Hanan Ali Abbasi the resolution said that “practical steps should be taken to promote National language at national level as mentioned in the Constitution of Pakistan and recommended promoting Urdu language through the use of modern technology. The resolution was adopted unanimously by the House. The Member Senate of Pakistan Dr. Ismail also presented this idea in Senate of Pakistan.

d)       Hanan Ali Abbasi has moved a new resolution that said “This House is of the opinion that for the better delivery of public services, the Government of Pakistan should form new administrative units in the shape of new provinces.

e)      Hanan Abbasi moved another important resolution that “Pakistan’s policy on Terrorism should not compromise on the country’s dignity and national interest. This resolution was unanimously adopted by the House”.

f)         In a very important session of YPP with Governor KPK, Awais Ghani, Hanan dauntlessly pointed out the non-parliamentary presence of loaded gunman in youth parliament. He stood a view that it is against parliamentary rules and regulations, Governor immediately got his gunman out of the parliament. Mr. Abbasi strongly condemned the weapon culture and fully supported local body’s resolution during the session while Governor NWFP chairing,

g)       Mr. Hanan greatly highlighted the activities of youth parliamentarians in Media until he was Information Minister of youth parliament. He presented unique concept of “Media for Education, allocation of reserved seats for Youth in real parliament and demanded National Media commission comprised of retired judge of Supreme Court and senior journalists to control media.

h)        He raised calling attention notice regarding Dr. Afia Siddiqui’s case and participated as a special guest to receive Afia Siddiqui’s sister in Abbottabad.

i)          A Calling attention notice initiated by Hanan Ali Abbasi inviting attention of the House to the killings of innocent people of Hazara during protest on renaming issue. The Youth Information Minister asked the Government to highlight fact and personalities behind this tragic incident & the families must be compensated.

j)         As Information Minister of Youth Parliament he attended Seminar “Role of Media promoting the culture of Mutual Tolerance, Civic responsibility & Role of Law organized by National Defiance University Islamabad and Pakistan Young Leaders Conference 2010 organized by National Union of Pakistan’ student & Alumni in Convention center.

As Author & Columnist

Hanan Ali Abbasi has worked with many National Daily Newspapers, Radio Pakistan & and Pakistani TV channel ATV as “Assistant Producer”. He hosted more than 500 live programmes from Radio Pakistan, Islamabad center like “Mustaqbil key Log”, “Gird-o-Pesh”, & “Surmala”. Besides this, he wrote more than 350 Articles for Editorial pages of Daily Nawa-i-Waqat, Daily Ausaf and other Urdu newspapers. Below are some of his literary work glimpses:

  • Hanan also wrote Drama series by the title of “Kali Andhi” in an exclusive.

  • He wrote a book “Zameeni sitray in his teenage. The District Government of two Pakistani districts officially provided this book to all school of Districts.

  • He wrote a travelogue “China to United Kingdom”, and he visited both countries as a state guest.

  • He introduced a new concept of launching a book in video documentary format. He released an introductory Video documentary of his Book, “Zameni Sitary”. The C.D contains brief introduction of his book and argument of many prominent personalities of Pakistan in this regard.

  • In teenage, Hanan Ali was covering National Assembly proceedings, political developments, General Elections and proceeding of Supreme Court. Government’s Press Information Department issued him accreditation card when he was only 19 years old.

  • In 2005, Hanan became the youngest journalist ever to be awarded the “Pak-UK Excellence Award” in the field of Media and Urdu Literature. Pakistan Television (PTV) declared Hanan Abbasi is Youngest Journalist & Author of country in a commentary.

  • Observing his services in highlighting the problems of people, affected in Oct 2005 Earthquake, a Turkey based international human rights organization I.H.H awarded him best Young Writer Award in Earthquake issues.

  • Pakistan Television (PTV), Radio Pakistan and private channels invited Hanan Ali in their special youth programs. A number of National newspapers and magazines also interviewed Hanan and published these in their editions.

  • He participated in workshops on “Child Rights” organized by ILO and “Media monitoring” organized by International Federation of Journalists and several others. Hanan also attended many seminars on Education, Human Rights, Media and Political Affairs.

  • Participated as a Special Guest on Iqbal Day with Allama Iqbal’s grandson, barrister Waleed Iqbal, Iftikhar Arif, in state-owned television channel PTV’s program “Such tou Yeh Hei”
  • He was specially invited as a National Young acheiver in PTV’s live program “DATELINE PAKISTAN” with Zubair Ahmed Saddiqui (a prominent newcaster and anchor)
  • He participated in famous morning anchor Farah Hussain’s show “Morning with Farah” at ATV.
  • Dr. Sulman presented a special show “Aj ki Baat” on 17 May, 2010, on PTV News.
  • He appeared four times in one hour live morning show “Rize & Shine” with Yashfeen Zafeer at Waqt TV.
  • Performed in ATV’s video documentary “Taleem Sb k Liay”, and worked as Journalistic Group Guest of ATV talk show “Awam Dakh Rahay Hain”.
  • He also participated in traditional-style, regional TV channel programme “Pothoware Bathiq” with Shahzad Naqish (Apna tv Punjabi)
  • He was invited as special morning guest in “Mazban Pakistan” with Sundus Jameel (PTV)
  • Participated in Radio Pakistan’s programs “Youth Magazine”, “Azam-e-Jawan”, “Gevay Pakistan” & Surmala.
